Van Picture

Three guys, two girls, and a Scottish man Filled up a full size and a mini van,

Their destination was Maple Canyon,
To climb up cobbles and come back down again.

From their home many cobbles were ripped, By every person on the trip.

Rebecca

The falling began with a shrieking sound, As Rebecca plummeted towards the ground.

Two days of roughing it was all we could take, So for movies and shopping: the place was Salt Lake.

Up the 12c Tymun did scamper,
Despite the loss of a cobble, with which Sam did tamper,

In the Zen Garden Rebecca challenged the master, But with no thought for his safety, Tymun lowered Dave faster.

We awoke on Thursday with rain coming down, So we decided to spend our rest day in town.

The Ephraim library was boring indeed,
So into the foothills we did proceed.

Sam's excellent driving took us higher and higher, Till the van became stuck in the thickening mire.

We abandoned the vehicle and proceeded on foot, To the top of the hill where a pallet was put.

Pallet Wrestling

From the pallet Rebecca threw Dave and Sam in the mud, For pallet wrestling seemed to run in her blood.

Then the caber was tossed end over end,
But soon it was time for us to descend.

Caber Toss

The first quarter mile was done in reverse, But by pushing and shoving, we avoided the worst.

We thought, at the moment, we made it back down, But into a cattle guard, we ran aground.

As indicated by the billowing smoke,
We soon found out that the brake was broke.

So back to Maple the broken van crawled, The lightning did strike and the rain did fall.

In a dome tent did Brad and Dave cuddle, It was Dave's only option, it was that, or a puddle.

The next morning we awoke with the sun in the sky, Things started out well, but they soon went awry.

When Rebecca did insult Dave's lowering power, He dropped her at 100 miles per hour.

Dave and Tymun kept peeling off the 12b
But eventually two redpoints, we finally did see.

Jennifer

On that fateful morning , her nemesis she slayed, As Jennifer stepped up and cruised that 10a

Up in the canyons, the cobbles rained down, As Rebecca scrambled up to gain higher ground,

When the landslide had ceased and the dust had all settled, Dave shot her a look that stung like a nettle.

Without a landslide to create a distraction, Dave bagged his 27th with smooth climbing action.

With insurance paid up, Brad took the lead, No need to fear, they'll pay if you bleed.

With jokes about cobbles Brad and Bec pleased the crowd, But Dave rolled his eyes and growned right out load.

As Dave employed the principles of C.R.A.P., A pair disappeared and gave the van a good wrap.

While starring at the anchors on Rebecca's 12a Dave took a whipper and she flew on belay.

Into the woods Jennifer often would surge, And whip out her FUD to relieve the urge,

Sams bodily noises made moose hearts go a flutter, When he emitted a sound from one end to the other.

At the Costco in Boise we planned to stop for a rest, But surprise! One went east, the other went west.

At the Cracker Barrel we once again ate, Brad and Rebecca went first, the others slept late.

The trip ended too quickly but the time was well spent, As numerous routes in the canyon were sent.

So thus came the end to this visit to Maple, But never fear, it's a road tripping staple.
